The Revenant Review

After 3 hours of experiencing The Revenant I felt chills the rest of the night, almost as if I were sick. Sure, this could (and probably) was a coincidence, but I couldn’t doubt the power that this movie can bare on one’s being. No one can watch movies like this and not have a little part of them taken away.

I mean, after seeing Leonardo DiCaprio gut a dead horse and crawl inside it for warmth, no one can forget that.

The Revenant is unlike anything you’ve ever seen at the movies in recent years. I knew going in that it was going to be a big film, but I didn’t know I would be short-changing it by just saying “big.” It’s epic, in every sense of the word; In scope, in beauty, in talent, and epically breathtaking.

2016 Oscar Nominees announced

The nominations for the 88th Academy Awards were announced earlier this morning.

The Revenant received the most nominations with 12, including ones for Best Picture, Best Director (Alejandro G. Iñárritu), Best Actor (Leonardo DiCaprio), and Best Supporting Actor (Tom Hardy).

Mad Max: Fury Road pulled 10 nominations this year, including Best Cinematograpy, Best Costume Design, and a Best Director nomination for George Miller.

Among those who received their first nominations in their respective careers include a Best Director nomination for Adam Mckay for his work on The Big Short, and a Best Actress nomination for Brie Larson for her performance in Room.

Sylvester Stallone, fresh off his recent win at the Golden Globes, is nominated for a Best Supporting Actor for reprising his Rocky Balboa character in Creed.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the biggest movie in the world right now, only has 5 nominations, including ones for Original Score and Editing.
