Happy Sunday, Star Wars fans! The presumed final theatrical poster for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been released, with the news of the impending trailer release on Monday coming as well.
A few of our observations on this new poster:
- NEW. DEATH. STAR.
- Although Finn is still the person on the poster holding the infamous Skywalker lightsaber, Rey is the most prominently featured member of the new regime. I’m still firmly convinced that Rey is Han and Leia’s daughter, and Finn is a decoy for Rey, who is going to be the incumbent Jedi, and her placing on the poster is doing nothing to disrupt my suspicions.
- Poe Dameron is still being treated like the unwanted supporting character, which means that he is going to have a massive role.
- The piece everyone is talking about is the fact that Luke Skywalker isn’t in the poster. We now live in an age where all of the big moments of movies have been thrown out for everyone to see in the posters, trailers and even TV commercials. Let’s be happy that JJ isn’t giving into the court of public opinion and is saving the Skywalker reveal until December.
