Graduate from The College at Brockport from Camden, NY, and a massive addict of movies. A big fan since I was a kid, I’ve always been a big fan of all that movies can do for fans as well as for a society in general. Movies like Casblanca talk about the hopeless romantics, while Star Wars opened up a whole new generation to the fantasy of science fiction. Personally, my favorite movies include Inception, Saving Private Ryan, The Shawshank Redemption, The Prestige, Sunshine, Armageddon and The Dark Knight. I know Armageddon is kind of a stretch, but I just love movies that are simply fun, and Armageddon is a perfect example of that. But thank you for logging onto Reel-2-Reality, and please let us know of anything that we can do better @ email@example.com
I am a graduate from the prestigious College at Brockport with my Bachelors in communications, and double minors in film studies and sociology. I’m originally from Webster, NY; “where life is worth living.” If you don’t want to be embarrassed, don’t play Scene It with me, and yes that was a challenge. Random movie facts and classic film (anything made before 1980) are my strong suit. What I love about movies is their uncanny ability to make a terrible day just a little bit better. It seems downright mean to make me rate my favorite films. So in no particular order: Marilyn Monroe films, Gone with the Wind, Alfred Hitchcock films, It Happened One Night, Sherlock Holmes, West Side Story, The Notebook, Disney films, and so many more, but the list would be unnecessarily long. I look forward to bringing a female perspective to the site, so ladies I got yo back!
The College at Brockport Graduate with a Bachelors in Journalism as well as a minor in Film Studies. Resident of Cheektowaga, NY (suburb of Buffalo). I have loved watching movies for as long as I can remember. They are a great escape from the real world, even if the escape may only last for a couple hours. I can’t really name a favorite movie but I have favorites in each genre. I have a natural appreciation for all movies in all different genres. However, one common skill that I have is I can predict how well movies will do based on their trailers. Some of my favorites include: Tommy Boy, The Good, the Bad and The Ugly, Watchmen, The Bourne Series, District 9, Goodfellas and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Mark Di Stefano
I’m Mark Di Stefano. I’m currently a junior at The College at Brockport, pursuing a B.S. in Journalism and Broadcasting. I’m also doing a minor in Film Studies. Here’s what I did before I came here:
Born in Greece, New York, graduating from Greece Odyssey Academy in June 2010 with a Regents Diploma with Advanced designation with Salutary Honors. I did a lot of musical and dramatic productions throughout High School. Most notably though, I was the Board Operator of Odyssey Sound, a student self-run sound reinforcement crew. We did musicals, coffee houses, theatre productions, school assemblies, and other cool stuff. I play guitar, piano, violin, and I sing Bass. So I did quite a bit for myself. I love the cinema. I love movies and how they affect the general public. This is why I’m going to be a Film Critic. Not to “aspire” to be, or to “try” to be, just “to be.” This is a fact. I’ve known this since I was a little kid. I love all films. Comedies, Dramedies, Dramas, Cartoons, Science-Fiction, Classic, Independent, and so many others that it’s hard to think about. I especially love films that surprise you. You know, the one you thought was going to be a dud and it turned out to be one of your favorite movies? Yeah, that one. Some of my favorite films you may agree with and some you may not, such as Funny People and An American in Paris.
My name is Lawrence Foster and I am a sports reporter for the Roswell Daily Record in Roswell, NM. I have been in the alien city for nearly a year. I graduated from The College at Brockport in December of 2009 with a degree in broadcast journalism.I got into journalism to be able to work in what I love: Sports and movies. I have always been a big movie fan and have been known to spend days off watching 2-3 movies at the theater. I have no particular genre that I prefer over another. Favorite series include: Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and The Lord of the Rings. Favorite movies: Black Swan, Tommy Boy, Old Boy, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring, Hangover and Hook.
I’m a graduate student of Counselor Education at the College at Brockport where I also completed my undergraduate work with a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication and Health Science. I’ll be a high school counselor someday, impressing my students with my obsession with movies, trivia, and celebrity knowledge. My passion for movies was undoubtedly passed down to my brother and I from our father. In elementary school, he was quizzing me on every best picture since 1928 and I was staying up late to watch the Oscars every year; that award show is my Super Bowl. I see so many movies in theaters that my brother and I decided to keep track. Last year I saw 43 and this year my goal is 50 which I will probably surpass. I enjoy most genres especially action and cartoons, but I refuse to watch horror movies because they traumatize me. I blame this on watching Ernest Scared Stupid as a toddler. I love to watch movies because of the fantasy aspect and the character development. I am completely engrossed when I watch a film and I appreciate them all for their own unique elements. It is terribly difficult to pick only a few favorites because it really depends on my mood but The Little Mermaid is my all-time favorite movie. I enjoy any Disney movie, but also The Hurt Locker, The Breakfast Club, The Shawshank Redemption, Rain Man, Unbreakable, Man on Fire, Good Will Hunting, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Ordinary People.
